Wireless 20|20 Initiates Smart Cities Strategy Consulting Practice Led by Former New York City Deputy Commissioner of Telecommunications Planning Al Jenkins

New Windsor, NY - May 17, 2018 - Wireless 20/20, LLC (www.wireless2020.com), a leading broadband wireless research and consulting firm, announced today that it has initiated a Smart Cities Strategy Consulting Practice. To lead this practice is Al Jenkins, a former Deputy Commissioner of Telecommunications Planning for New York City and an industry expert in global connected cities. Mr. Jenkins has over 25 years of experience in telecommunications, which includes 20 years involved in the wireless industry.

As mobile networks transition to 5G networks, all municipalities will need to develop a Smart Cities strategy to develop leading-edge mobile networks and Smart Cities capabilities to prepare for future growth.

"We are pleased to have Al join Wireless 20/20. His in-depth knowledge of Smart Cities applications and technology, and what it takes for cities to be able to execute a Smart Cities strategy around the world, is a great choice to lead this new area of focus for our company," said Randall Schwartz, Co-Founder and Principal Consultant of Wireless 20/20. "Wireless 20/20 has an established history in modeling the wireless requirements for 5G applications, including Smart Cities, using our award-winning WiROI™ Business Case Analysis Tool. With Al's background and experience, he will spearhead the expansion of our research and consulting practice to support municipalities as they look toward a Smart Cities future."

With this announcement, Wireless 20/20 debuts its new WiROI™ Smart Cities Business Case Analysis Tool for municipalities. The new WiROI™ Tool will allow communities to evaluate different wireless technologies, including 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, IoT, and other private operational networks to understand costs, develop monetization strategies, and create investment strategies to build their cities of the future.

"Municipalities around the world are turning to technology to build next-generation networks that support economic and civic growth, and create new applications and services of the future," said Al Jenkins. "As Smart Cities applications are deployed, the practical experience gained so far, is pointing the way for best practices in both technology implementation and business models. I'm looking forward to bringing my experience to the Wireless 20/20 team, and in turn, bringing the company's full range of market research and consulting expertise to new vertical markets."
